Ximeno

For several years now, young parents Cesar and Julia have feared for the life of their only child, Ximeno. In a pre-surgical interview, Julia shared: “When our son was born, the doctors did not notice that something was wrong with his heart. As an infant he got sick and was admitted to the hospital. They did several studies and told us Ximeno had a congenital heart defect. We struggled to understand and didn’t know what to do. We took him to a specialist when he was three years old, and they told us that he needed surgery. We were so afraid, but the doctors explained the procedure to us, and we felt more at ease. More than anything, we want him to be healthy and to be able to lead a normal life. We are so grateful for your support. Without it, it would not be possible for our son to undergo surgery.

Six weeks ago, Ximeno had an operation to close the hole in his heart with support from the Goff Gift Fund, Puente de Solidaridad, and medical team at the Incor Hospital. Today, as I write this story, Ximeno is celebrating his 7th birthday with his family in Santa Cruz. What a wonderful birthday this must be for the 2nd grader and his family.
