Soledad Unajuri
Soledad is a 4 month old girl born with a serious congenital heart condition. This emergency operation was done successfully. Soledad is the daughter of Zenobia and Gilberto Unajuri. She is the youngest of 6 children, with the oldest being 14. Gilberto works as a construction helper in a adobe construction. He makes about 600 Bolivianos a month or the equivalent of about $150.
Gilberto states before the operation, "I do not know what to do now, I have tried everything to get the help I need. I go without lunch or even drinking water in my efforts to help my daughter. They told me she needs an urgent operation."
