Soledad Unajuri
Soledad is a 4 month old girl born with a serious congenital heart condition. Soledad is the daughter of Zenobia and Gilberto Unajuri. She is the youngest of 6 children, with the oldest being 14. Gilberto works as a construction helper in a adobe construction. He makes about 600 Bolivianos a month or the equivalent of about $150.
Gilberto states before the operation, "I do not know what to do now, I have tried everything to get the help I need. I go without lunch or even drinking water in my efforts to help my daughter. They told me she needs an urgent operation." This emergency operation was done successfully and was made possible through the financial support of Dharma Trading Co.
