Sami was two months old when his parents first took him to the emergency room after observing him struggle to breathe. Doctors noted his blue skin tone and immediately referred him to heart specialists who confirmed a prolapsed aortic valve and a hole in his heart wall. Since his open-heart surgery, Sami’s mom reports he has put on weight and no longer tires quickly when playing.
