Job

Two-year-old Job is the baby of a crowded household that includes his mom and dad, Angelica and Ely, plus four older siblings and a grandmother. Job was born with a complex heart malformation known as tricuspid atresia. Thanks to the rapid mobilization of funds through the Solidarity Bridge/ Puente de Solidaridad Heart Program, his life was saved when he underwent his first heart surgery at just two days old. However, his condition has required continued specialized care. As he approached his second birthday, doctors told his parents he would need another surgery, known as the Glenn procedure. Angelica and Ely again turned to the Santa Cruz office of Puente de Solidaridad for support. On September 1, 2019, his surgery was performed by a visiting team from Texas Children’s Hospital as part of a surgical campaign coordinated by the Solidarity Bridge / Puente de Solidaridad Heart Program with critical funding provided by the Goff Gift Fund.
