Giovanni Fernandez
Giovanni is a 1 year old baby boy who was abandoned when he was 3 months old and lives in an orphanage. The reason he was probably abandoned was the severity of his heart condition. The parents probably lost hope of being able to help him. He was born with a very complex congenital heart defect and without an operation would have soon died.
Giovanni had an operation in August in the Hospital Belga by the team lead by Dr. Carlos Brockmann. The operation was difficult and he required much subsequent time in the intensive care unit. He is now recovering and has the prospect of being fully recovered. This surgery was made possible through the financial support of Dharma Trading Co.
