Elizabeth Reimer
Elizabeth is a 2 year old girl who comes from the Mennonite immigrants to the Santa Cruz area of Bolivia. This child had great difficulty sleeping, got tired quickly when she played and had a good deal of congestion in her lungs. She also was not walking as yet, though she was 28 months old. These are all signs of her congenital heart problem. Her father told us: "We do not have money to help our daughter and we do not know what will happen to her. We no longer know where else to turn. We went everywhere looking for help, but no one helped us."
Dr. Arturo Barrientos and his team operated successfully on Elizabeth on September 25th. It was an emergency operation because of the nature of the problem and the possibility of Elizabeth dying without it. This surgery was made possible through the financial support of Dharma Trading Co.
