Delcy

Delcy is a 3-year-old girl who has lived her life with complex cardiac pathologies. As an infant, Delcy required heart surgery in 2018. Unfortunately, her condition worsened since the surgery, requiring another surgery for long-term improvements in her health. Although concerned about the costs associated with the procedure, Delcys family was dedicated to doing all they could for her to live a better life. Delcy is the youngest child of Juan, a farmer who is widowed and responsible for raising Delcy and Manuel, her six-year-old brother. Because of Juan’s situation, in addition to his hearing difficulties, Delcy’s extended family is also involved in supporting Delcy and Manuel. Delcy’s uncle shared, “Delcy is very dear. We know that she is strong. She is going to get out of this situation.”

On December 13, 2021, Delcy was able to receive the necessary heart procedure with the support of her loving family, Puente de Solidaridad, Dr. Carlos Brockmann, and the Goff Gift Fund. Delcy was discharged on the same day and is currently in stable condition. The family is grateful for the organization’s commitment to Delcy’s health. Her uncle shared, “I hope you can help us. We are eternally grateful because you are God's response to our lives.”
