Christian Arteaga
Cristian is a 16 year old. He was born deaf/mute and with a congenital pulmonary artery stenosis (narrowness). This caused him to not be able to play sports or run. His family situation is difficult and he lives with his father and 2 sisters in the above rented house. His mother lives in Spain as an illegal immigrant some years back and has apparently created a new family there. His father is a taxi driver and has taken on the role of father and mother. Although handicapped, Cristian is a happy and sociable youth.
In his father words: "Although my son is handicapped I want him to live as long a life as possible. We just found out about his heart problem and will do everything I can to help my son Cristian to get well. Please help us since his mother has abandoned us."
Cristian was operated on August 26th by Dr. Bejo Gareca and his team. He is well. This surgery was made possible through the financial support of Dharma Trading Company.
