Alan
Alan is the middle son of Rodrigo, an electrician, and Flora, from the central Bolivian city of Sucre. Alan was diagnosed with a heart defect as an infant. The family borrowed money to pay for a procedure which only partially improved his condition. He’s now in first grade, but is tiny for his age and unable to keep up with his classmates. No hospital in Sucre could treat Alan, so the family traveled to Santa Cruz where Alan was approved for the Heart-to-Heart campaign. He underwent another catheterization, but Flora reports he has not shown the expected improvement. The INCOR team is evaluating next steps in his care.
